Companies with GF Lists Online

Company Statements Regarding Gluten Free Products:

Braum's Ice Cream and Dairies - Per Braum's Website, according to their Frequently Asked Questions:
"Do you have gluten free products? We do not have a list of gluten free products, however, any ice cream without a baked product in it would be gluten free. Example: Our Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Brownie Fudge Sundae flavors have baked products in them and would not be considered gluten free."

Norbest Turkey - Per Norbest Turkey's website "All Norbest whole turkeys and bone-in turkey breasts are gluten-free and MSG-free!"

Jimmy Dean Sausages - Per customer representative, "As of 8/20/03, all the pre-made sausages are gluten-free. The biscuits and breakfast sandwiches contain gluten." The bread-containing sandwiches are not made in the same factory as the sausages.

Bar-S Meats - Per Bar-S Website, all Bar-S products, including Bar-S Hot Dogs, Bacon, Bologna, Smoked Sausage, Hams and Lunchmeats, are gluten free. This was verified on May 4, 2005. According to their FAQ, "Q: Do Bar-S products contain gluten? A: ALL Bar-S products are gluten free. The source of modified food starch in our products is from corn. However, our Chuck Wagon brand Franks contain wheat flour."

U.S. Wrigley Products - Per company representative, the following is a list of U.S. Wrigley products that remain free of any wheat, oat, rye or barley gluten:

  • Wrigley's Spearmint gum
  • Freedentgum
  • Doublemint gum
  • Extra gum
  • Big Red gum
  • Eclipse gum
  • Juicy Fruit gum
  • Eclipse Flash breath strips
  • Winterfresh gum
  • Orbit gum
  • Winterfresh Thin Ice breath strips
  • Orbit White gum

If your sensitivity extends to other types of gluten, several of our brands contain corn syrup, which may have trace amounts of corn gluten in it. The amount of gluten in one stick is less than 0.2 milligrams, but if you are extremely sensitive, you may want to consult with your physician before chewing our brands.

Additionally, no packaging material directly next to our product contains gluten sources. There may be instances when starches are used on the label around each individual stick of gum, but these starches are produced from corn or potatoes, not from wheat, rye, barley, oats, millet or buckwheat.

We hope this information has been helpful and thanks again for contacting the Wrigley Company.

Sincerely,
WM. WRIGLEY JR. COMPANY
