Corn Flour Tortillas
I found a good recipe inexpensive recipe for corn flour tortillas. It's nice making them yourself, then you can control a bit the seasonings and chemicals in your food.
1/2 cups Masa (can get in the Mexican food section)
1/3 cups Water
Salt pinch
Mix all ingredients together thoroughly for about 2 minutes to form soft dough. If dough feels dry add more water, about a teaspoon at a time.
Divide into 4 equal balls. Cover with damp cloth to keep dough moist. Line a tortillas press with two sheets of plastis wrap. Place each ball between plastic and press until tortillas are 5 to 6 inches in diameter. Carefully peel from plastic.
Cook on griddle 50 seconds each side. Cover with cloth to keep warm.
Tostados: Allow tortillas to cool and cut into quarter. Fry about 2 minutes. Drain chips and season while chips are still hot.
Serve with salsa or cinnamon sugar.
