I'm thinking of getting a German Shepherd. This will be my first dog and I need advise about what will be the best puppy food brand I should feeding it with and what will be my yearly expense I will be facing.
If you guys have any suggestions for a first time dog owner regarding any other bread, I will appreciate it.
Thank you so much,
Ricardo.

Hi Ricardo,
Thanks for your comment.
German Shepards are cool dogs. I had some friends with them. I use Science Diet Large Breed Puppy food. I got a 40 lb bag I think it was about $44. I think it will last a bit over 2 months.
The expensive part is seems to be set up. I probably went overboard. Got a cool food storage bin, crate, couple beds, a doggie septic tank system, pooper scooper, and just about everything else you can imagine. Most of it's one time and probably don't have to have.
Also, the first couple months they need shots quite a bit. So you may want to talk to other pet owns in your area, there is a wide range on how much they charge and what they charge for. I had one vet a few years back, everytime I went to him it would be about $150. Even for something simple like purging the tail glands. I went to a vet down the street, he purged them for free, talked with me for a while and for the situation we decided to have the glands removed.
I would highly suggest puppy training classes, especially for a first dog. I had a few dogs before, and have a lot of people that Kinya has a pretty good social life. That at this time I'm not planning on classes. But my first dog, I wish I could of got her in classes sooner. She was a Border Collie, and very dominate. Kinya is pretty mellow.
Lot of the classes beside socialization so your dog knows how to act, is training the master how to communicate with there dog.
